Friendship Heights is undergoing a major transformation, transitioning from a regional shopping district to a connected neighborhood center. The commercial center of Friendship Heights continues to show signs of economic strength and contains many vital retail, office, and residential assets in an accessible and desirable location at the Washington, DC, and Maryland border, offering more than four million square feet of mixed-use development.

Friendship Heights is a growing neighborhood at the border of Washington, DC, and Montgomery County, Maryland. More than 5,000 people live in the immediate vicinity of Friendship Heights in condominiums, apartments, and single-family homes.

The commercial corridor boasts a stellar lineup of nationally recognized high-end shopping, including Tiffany’s, Bloomingdale’s, Saks Fifth Avenue, and delightful boutiques.

The area has a wealth of grocery options, including the renowned Rodman’s Grocery with its international flair, as well as Whole Foods and Amazon Fresh. Dining options are growing, with several new spots coming soon. Irish watering hole Hunter’s Hound opened in 2022 next to the long-time family favorite Clyde’s.

In addition, Friendship Heights is home to hundreds of health and wellness practitioners, from acupuncturists to podiatrists. Everything is within walking distance, including Capital Bikeshare stations, the Red Line Metrorail station, and more than a dozen bus lines.
