Resources for all Friendship Heights Businesses:
The Friendship Heights Alliance holds Monday Mixers several times per year for businesses, retailers, owners, tenants, and employees to network, social, and share best practices. Find the full schedule here.
Business Newsletter: The Alliance has created a business-focused newsletter to support our tenants, employees, property owners and small and large businesses. To join this list, please email hello@friendshipheights.com.
Public Safety: The Alliance holds quarterly public safety meetings for businesses and property managers. Our most recent public safety meetings for FH businesses and property managers focused on cameras and real time crime centers. Both Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) and the DC Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) are developing real-time crime centers to enhance crime solving and prevention by providing real-time data and situational awareness to officers in the field. A key function that makes these centers effective is the ability to integrate with private camera systems in the public realm. Both MPD and MCPD are working with a company called FUSUS that enables private businesses to register and connect their cameras with these systems.
DC businesses/buildings can register their cameras with Camera Connect DC.
Maryland businesses/buildings can register their camera with MoCoConnect.
Maximizing participation in these programs in Friendship Heights can make a real difference in terms of crime solving and prevention. To receive notification of these public safety meetings, send an an email to hello@friendshipheights.com.
How the Friendship Heights Alliance can help promote your business:
The Friendship Heights Alliance is a place-focused nonprofit specifically set up to promote, elevate, and enliven the Friendship Heights neighborhood on the DC and MD sides. We do that through a variety of ways, including placemaking, public realm improvements, events and activations, and marketing — for the neighborhood and also new businesses.
There are three primary ways we promote Friendship Heights businesses:
1. Business Directory: Here is a link to our business directory
2. Newsletters: Here is a link to our newsletters
3. Social Media: Here are the links to our Instagram and Facebook platforms: please follow and tag us!
What we need: Send us a few sentences about your business, photos and/or a logo, and any other pertinent information including address and contact people. We customize that content for all three of the spots mentioned above!
