Join us for our April Third Thursday, an unforgettable journey through the vibrant beats and soulful melodies that have shaped Washington, DC's music scene. Step into the rhythm and history of Washington, DC's legendary music scene with us! From the swinging jazz of U Street in the roaring 1920s to the funk and go-go beats of the 1970s, our city has been a beacon of musical innovation. Explore the roots of iconic artists who left an indelible mark on the soundscape of DC. Dive into the DC punk world that took hold in the underground venues of the 1980s, where bands ignited a movement. Let's celebrate the diverse tapestry of sounds that have made DC a hub of creativity and inspiration for music lovers everywhere.

Moderator Nina Walia will be joined by Charvis Campbell, Executive Director of Home Rule Music and Film and Cynthia Connolly, photographer, curator, and publisher of Banned in DC: Photos and Anecdotes from the DC Punk Underground 79-86.
