September 10: Amy K. Bormet and the Washington Women in Jazz
Inspired by Shirley Horn, Geri Allen, and Duke Ellington, DC’s own Amy K. Bormet is a pianist,
vocalist, and composer, seamlessly fusing elements of jazz, singer-songwriter, and the avant-garde, leading her to stages on national and international festivals. Her compositions have been performed by ensembles of all sizes, from a Swedish chamber choir, to the National Symphony Orchestra. In 2011, to foster creative community spaces – by, and for, women and non-binary musicians, Amy K Bormet created the Washington Women in Jazz Festival. She directs, finances, and performs with Washington Women In Jazz to celebrate the women and non-binary artists of DC’s renowned improvisational music communities. Now in its 16th year, she collaborates with Leigh Pilzer, Biggi Vinkeloe, Shana Tucker, and more than 75 women and non-binary musicians from around the globe.
September 17: Dominique Bianco Trio
The Dominique Bianco Trio featuring Right Chipper is a genre-bending group based in Washington, DC. Bringing together Dominique’s jazz-influenced singer-songwriter sound with Right Chipper’s math-rock energy, the group explores everything from intricate harmonies to unique melodies and improvisation. Featuring original music from both Dominique and Right Chipper, their sets are dynamic, collaborative, and a little bit unexpected.
Dominique is known for her strong vocals, emotional songwriting, and improvisational talents, and has drawn comparisons to Ella Fitzgerald and Yebba. She was runner-up in the 2023 Billie Holiday Vocal Competition, a top 3 finalist in the 2022 International Ella Fitzgerald Vocal Competition, won the 2023 Best Jazz Artist Wammie Award, was a Strathmore Artist in Residence, and was a finalist in the 2025 New Song Music Songwriting Competition.
She has performed at The Kennedy Center, The Cutting Room, Gramercy Theatre, Blues Alley, Keystone Korner, DC9, and Songbyrd, to name a few. Right Chipper has performed throughout the DC music scene and beyond. With members Knox Engler from North Carolina, Lucas Kirby from Miami, Florida, and Dominique from New York City, the group is proud to show that the East Coast live music scene is alive and well.

Dupont Strings is a rotating collective of string players who take pop hits and give them the classical treatment — violin, viola, and cello reworked into something you didn't know you needed. The lineup shifts, the sound doesn't: tight arrangements, real chemistry, zero elevator music. Think string trio meets your Spotify Wrapped. From contemporary hits to unforgettable favorites, Dupont Strings turns the music you love into an elegant, energetic string experience—bringing a little drama, romance, and magic to every performance.
