Friendship Heights Alliance Celebrates Annual Meeting (Sept. 2025)
On September 17, the Friendship Heights Alliance celebrated its second full year of operations with a gathering at the Sky Lounge of the Residences at Mazza! Members, commercial landowners, and tenants came together to elect board members, reflect on the Alliance’s progress, and recognize community partners with our first-ever Community Stewardship Awards.
James Lee and Kindy Diallo accepted the award for the Wisconsin Place Recreation Center, which was honored for its commitment to providing welcoming spaces for recreation, meetings, and youth programming, including hosting the Alliance’s Youth Council and pollinator garden workshops. Willa Morris, a longtime Friendship Heights resident, received recognition for her leadership in the Alliance’s pollinator garden program, where she has guided volunteers, taken care of gardens, and mentored youth.
The event highlighted the Alliance’s commitment to “both/and” thinking, embracing growth and livability, supporting businesses and public spaces, and fostering a neighborhood for all ages.
