Julia Westfall and Monti Taylor of Hera Hub
For more than a decade, Hera Hub DC has been a cornerstone for women entrepreneurs in the Friendship Heights area, offering community, support, and collaborative growth. Opened by Julia Westfall in 2014, the space has grown into a trusted hub for local business owners. Now, as leadership transitions to Monti Taylor, the mission continues with fresh energy and expanded reach. Julia has lived in nearby Chevy Chase, DC, for over 38 years and raised her family in the area. When she set out to open Hera Hub’s first East Coast location, Friendship Heights stood out as the ideal choice: centrally located between Bethesda, Georgetown, and downtown DC, with excellent public transit access and a strong residential community. Over the years, the space became a resource-rich environment where women could launch and grow their ventures while connecting with fellow entrepreneurs. Monti, a DMV resident for the past decade, joined Hera Hub as a member after launching her operations consulting business. What began as a search for a professional community turned into a meaningful connection with the mission of the space. When Julia announced her retirement, Monti stepped forward to continue the work, bringing both business leadership and a deep commitment to the community Hera Hub has cultivated. Hera Hub has now relocated from its previous space at 5028 Wisconsin Ave NW to the Spaces location at 4445 Willard Ave, Chevy Chase, and its community remains deeply rooted in Friendship Heights. Julia, who still lives in the neighborhood, looks forward to staying involved as the area continues to evolve and revitalize. Under Monti’s leadership, Hera Hub will continue to provide online education and member support while reimagining how the physical space operates. In addition to private member events, new monthly open happy hours will offer opportunities for broader connections across the DMV. These happy hours are $10 for non-members and include a complimentary drink, with the first one taking place on Thursday, June 26, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Urbano.
