Brandon Luong of Koi Tea

The Friendship Heights Alliance would like to give a warm welcome to Koi Tea, one of the newest additions to The Heights Food Hall! This family-owned shop goes beyond traditional bubble tea by remixing global drink favorites and showing that boba culture is for everyone.

The business began in 2017 when Leon and Vivianne Luong noticed their kids were serious boba lovers, seeking out bubble tea in every city they visited. What started as fun experimentation at home led to their son Brandon perfecting his own recipe, and eventually, the family opened their first shop in Stafford, Virginia. Named after Leon’s love of koi fish, Koi Tea is now led by Brandon, with his parents supporting behind the scenes. As a family business, they’re committed to great service, respect for all people, and environmentally conscious practices that guide everything they do.

At Koi Tea, you can discover a unique culinary experience. They specialize in crafting delicious and Instagram-worthy boba drinks with a wide range of flavors and toppings. They also offer a delectable selection of authentic Filipino dishes, prepared with traditional recipes and the freshest ingredients. From their signature milk teas to their flavorful adobo chicken, deep-fried plantains, and empanadas, Koi Tea offers a one-of-a-kind experience you won't find anywhere else.

Stop by Koi Tea at The Heights and be sure to follow them on Instagram!
