Friendship Heights Alliance Coordinates Markets, Gatherings, Conversations to Celebrate Community
WASHINGTON, DC, SEPTEMBER 4, 2025 ⸺ The Friendship Heights Alliance is building community and bringing people to the neighborhood with a series of engaging and fun events. The popular weekly Sunday Commons market is re-starting for an additional 11 weeks this fall, bringing local vendors, freshly prepared breakfast goodies, farm-fresh produce, and gorgeous flowers, along with live performances. The market runs each Sunday morning from 10 am to 1 pm from September 7 to November 23. Learn more here and follow Sunday Commons on Instagram.
The Alliance is also kick-starting Crossroads Conversations, a panel-focused series that delves into timely topics of interest to the neighborhood. “People in Friendship Heights want to be in the know and informed, so we’ll be delving into a few complicated topics this fall,” said Natalie Avery, Executive Director of the Friendship Heights Alliance. The September 18 event focuses on “Why We Need More Housing,” a challenging topic throughout the region. Additional events will include an artist talk for the TRACE gallery show (below), and a film screening. FREE. Details here; RSVP required.
