Richard Bradley
Executive Director, Friendship Heights Alliance
Mr. Bradley is a principal in The Urban Partnership, a company founded by his wife, Ellen M. McCarthy, former DC Planning Director, which provides urban planning, urban management, and placemaking consulting assistance. He is immediately engaged in assisting in the formation of several new business improvement districts both in DC and Northern Virginia, as well as aiding business groups in the city to develop strategic plans. He also serves as the Chairman of the National Cherry Blossom Festival and on the Board of the National Theater. Previously, Mr. Bradley served as the executive director of the Downtown DC BID Corporation and its predecessor, the Downtown BID Committee, from 1995 to 2015. He guided an $11 million program of special services and catalytic planning to help with the continuing renewal of the economy of downtown Washington, DC.
